I am in love with the retro feel of this burger joint. This place has been in business for almost fifty years, and for good reason. The menu selections range from wraps to grilled cheese sandwiches. There is also a comprehensive list of flavors to choose from if you want a shake or a slush, or a "glacier" (slush mixed with soft serve ice cream). This place is perfect if you are on a budget. They have very reasonably priced grilled cheese sandwiches. They also have a ham and cheese sandwich, which i find myself ordering frequently (and dipping in fry sauce). I will almost always get a pina colada glacier. The ambiance is very fun and laid back. I'm not sure if the place has ever been remodeled. A jukebox and several arcade games can be found throughout the diner. This is the perfect spot for larger groups and families. If you feel like sitting in your car instead of walking in to order, they do that too! One of the friendly gals that work there will come up to your car and take your order on a fancy iDevice. Personally, I would rather walk in and sit down and soak in the old school vibe.

Love the Piccadilly chips, kind of like a battered and fried French fry, with extra fry sauce. Yummy

Not clean! After I ordered I went down the hall to use the bathroom and there was a big dead COCKROACH in the hallway. Definitely a turn off. Since I had ordered I hate my burger anyway, but will not go back. Good old fashioned burgers made simple. The patties are thin with crispy edges. The prices are dirt cheap.

The only reason to go to St George. The gyros are awesome. I recommend the tater tots with fry sauce as a side.

If you are looking for a classic burger joint you will not be disappointed with Frostop. The burgers are very good and the fries are great. There are 5 different choices of fries. They were all great but I loved the "chips". Crispy on the out side and fluffy and tender on the inside. The ice cream looked good but we were way too full to try any.

Upon visiting St. George, I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon Larsen's Frostop Old Fashioned Drive In for several reasons. First and foremost, their milkshakes are some of the best I have EVER had. Being a Girl Scout leader, I couldn't help but order the S'mores variety. Let's just say that it was so good that I had to make an additional trip to Larsen's before rolling out of town to get one more for the road! My boyfriend was persuaded to order a vanilla shake unlike any he had ever had before where they mixed in the chocolate that is used for the dipped cones. His shake was awesome! It was like eating chocolate glitter throughout the shake, if that makes any sense. The second reason this place is such a gem is directly related to the service. As a teacher, I am always thrilled when a group of teenagers is comprised of friendly, attentive, and polite individuals who exhibit a good work ethic. The smiling faces provided wonderful suggestions and explained that the beef used for the burgers is fresh from a local butcher. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the King burger while I was very satisfied with the Queen. Good shakes and good burgers are of course complemented with non-greasy fries and a fry sauce that is simple yet delicious. Of course we had to get a grilled cheese sandwich because you can't beat a $1.00 grilled cheese sandwich with perfectly melted cheese. Being a drive in, you can order from your car or choose to eat inside. We decided to eat inside and were happy with the cleanliness. All in all, our experience was wonderful.

Been eating there since I was a kid. Get the King burger Picadilly chips and a large Pepsi freeze. You can't beat it.

The burgers were just okay, but the fries and milkshakes were awesome!

larsen's is a burger place from another time. this is your classic, drive-in burger; about 2 steps above mcdonald's, but not quite in-and-out. the french fries are seasoned quite well and stood out as the "really good" part of the meal. until the milkshake, which blows doors on everything. there are about 20 different shake flavors, from banana to mango. I got a cherry shake with real cherries in it, highly recommended!

This has become one of our stops every time we go to St. George. My wife loves the crinkle cut fries and fry sauce. I'm a fan of their burgers and the kids cant get enough of the shakes. As an added bonus their prices are lower than other burger places in the area.

  • Kirsten R.

Fish and chips were subpar and $10! Insane. Also ordered a king burger which was $5 and highly disappointing. We won't be returning.

Stopped here for lunch today. This is a drive-in and you can eat in your car if you would like but we decided to go inside. Its not huge inside but luckily it wasn't too busy. I got a pastrami burger and my wife had a grilled cheese. The burger was great and the fries were really good too. I had a bite of the grilled cheese and as I suspected it is probably more suited for kids as its kind of plain. This place has that old school feel to it and is a fun place to go. The tables inside are a little old and need a good power scrub or a refinish but other than that this place is pretty cool. Would come again.

Fantastically retro. If you're into old diners and anything vintage, you'll dig this place. The outside is pretty awesome. The kids working here are really friendly and polite, I was impressed! My husband and I ordered a burger, a grilled cheese, fries, and a mint shake and it came out to about 10 bucks. Food was delicious - simple greasy diner stuff. I had a great time here, it's so small town and old. We will always come back whenever we pass through St. George. And their fry sauce is amazing. Ahh!

What a great road-trip place! The burgers and hot dogs are good, big, and cheap. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly crispy and served with the ubiquitous Utah fry sauce. There's an excellent selection of shakes, malts, floats, freezes, and slushies. It's family-owned. We will stop here whenever leaving Vegas for Bryanhead, Salt Lake, or Pine Valley.

Day 2 of our Southern Utah Trip. Stopped by Larsens Frostop on a Saturday. Ordered the Big Cheese burger. It wasn't the greatest. The tater tots were too greasy for the kids. The Oreo shakes were like McDonald's mcflurry in taste. One reviewer was spot on about the bathrooms, but to me was more like a scene from the movie hostel. $1 grilled cheese for the kids was definently the highlight. Will not be going back.

After reading the reviews, I was hoping for a) great friendly service, and b) terrific food. We went inside, and from the counter I ordered the fish & chips for $11 bucks, but when I tried to eat it, I couldn't eat even half of it. It was awful. Not only was it terribly greasy, but it just didn't taste good. At all. The pineapple shake, however, was one of the best I've ever had. Others in our party had the burgers, a foot-long chili dog, and the signature drinks. Overall, if I go back it will be for their drinks. Not the service or the food. BIG disappointment.

We decided to stop here for dinner before heading back to Las Vegas. I love the feel when you enter, everyone greets you, and inside has that old school feel to it. Their burger selections sounded really good, and even better sounding was the flavor offerings in their shakes! Tried one of their new speciality burgers called the Hawaiian Burger and I just had to get a Banana Milkshake 'cause it's the Minion in me!....mmmm..BA-NA-NA!!!!;) Wifey wasn't too hungry, so she just got a grilled cheese which was only a buck! The burger was pretty good, just a little overcooked for my liking(I'm a medium rare meat type of guy), but I really enjoyed my shake-chunks of banana, nice, thick consistency, perfect! Next time you're in St. George, give Larsen's a try! ALOHA!!!

Good little Mom and Pop shop themed dive. Pretty good food, exactly what you would expect from a place like this. Chicken strips are the best as well as the shakes. If I ever pass by again, I'll make sure to stop here. You should too.

This place is kind of a ma and pa dive of a cafe. Its got that vibe to it which really attracts people. I can see why certain people would love it. For me though, the food is just disappointingly average. I honestly can't see myself eating here more than once in a blue moon. They do serve fry sauce and tater tots, which is really great. If I did go back it'd probably be for those. Nostalgia saves it from a 1-star review.

Classic mom and pop place. The food was fresh and hot. Don't miss the fry sauce with the tots or French fries. End your meal with a classic soft serve ice cream cone

Mom, the boy and I didn't think this place lived up to the hype. The burgers were average, the fries were average, and the shakes were average. The only interesting thing was trying the Utah "fry sauce" but frankly I think it can stay in Utah. Not that it was bad but I won't miss it. I was bummed...I wanted to like this place. The joint seemed a little on the old/dirty side but the kids at the counter were friendly. Sorry, but I'm stickin' with In-N-Out.

What once was old is new again. There's nothing better than a blast from the past. Only this blast last forever. Larsen's is immortal and eternal. And a fixture of this town. The food, however, isn't as old. In fact it's fresh. I was the first customer through on a Saturday morning, and the food was hot and fresh and delicious. I can also proudly say that these are the first crinkle fries I have had and loved. Usually they're old and soggy, but they were so very crisp. Chocolate banana shake? Check. You see, that's what the old places do. Serve up the classics. And they do them well. Burger. Fries. Shake. I can't live without them, and sometimes you just have to go to the past to find what you're looking for!

This is a old fashion drive in serving your basic hamburger, french fries, sandwiches and other simple foods. But they specialize in the milk shakes, there are over 20 different flavors to choose from and really sets this place apart from the other hamburger joints. I got a spicy chicken sandwich with french fries and my husband got a burger. My chicken was good and crispy and spiced just right. The bun was fresh and the french fries, crinkled cut, were served hot with a special sauce. So for about five bucks a pretty good meal.

I felt like Marty McFly back in 55! This is an authentic old fashioned Drive In with a huge variety of shakes. I had the cookie dough milk shake which was more than awesome & the footlong dog which was ok. My husband had the onion rings and the king burger; both were really delicious. Service was great, very friendly and fast. Being used to L.A. prices, I still can't get over the fact that their grilled cheese sandwich is only 1$...! Whether you are staying in St. George or just travelling by, this place is definitely worth stopping.

Was in town for one night after visiting Zion. Wanted a simple soft serve ice cream dessert as that is my husbands fave. This was a blast to a different time and place. Old fashioned and small town. My malt was good and the dipped cone my hubby had was ok. A little too thin on the chocolate dip so the soft serve so dripping out everywhere. Flavor was fine

This is the kind of place I love. Old school, one of a kind, quality local place. Driving through St George today on the way to Zion and stumbled across Larsen's. Had my dog with me so we ordered in car then ate lunch at the picnic tables. Awesome burger, chocolate shake and fries all for $10 (including a tip). I'll remember this place next time I'm in the area.

What a great place...can't believe we've never been! We stopped in for lunch today and I enjoyed the super nice service, reasonable prices and great food! I enjoyed a grilled cheese, fries and vanilla ice cream. Shared with the dog and had a great lunch!

My wife and I stopped into Larsen's today on our way home to Los Angeles. We always end up stopping at your typical chain restaurants for fast food on the road and, sadly, the same old places get real old real quick. We took a drive around St. George hoping to find something, ANYTHING that would be cheap and fast but not McDonald's or KFC. And sure enough we spot Larsen's, and we were both thrilled we did. First off, it's an old-fashioned drive-in that's actually old - not a Sonic. That's a huge plus. Still, we ate inside. Immediately friendly and attentive counter service. I ordered the Prince hamburger combo with cheese and the little lady ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. For a buck! One dollar. And they bring the food to your table! With a smile on their face. That goes a long way. Menu has a lot of variety for fast food: Fish 'n chips Gyros Grilled Cheese Pastrami Buffalo Chicken Sandwich And lots more... Tons of dessert options too! Fries and the burger come with a special sauce - my best guess was a 1000 Island sauce without the relish. Whatever it was, it was deeeelicious. And the burger? Very, very good. Thin but perfectly seasoned. More secret sauce, shredded lettuce and pickles, and a slice of American cheese. Perfect! After I mentioned to the manager how great the meal was, she let me know that the beef is all 100% fresh from a local butcher. Even better! Fries are crinkle-cut and perfectly crisp and salty. Dipped in the secret sauce, they're better than any chain restaurant's. Yum. And for dessert? A generous, generous "small" swirl soft-serve on a cone. This thing was huge. For 85 cents! Mmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmm. This is the place to stop for locals and people passing through' and it's right off the interstate. Oh, one more thing. There is a sign in the bathroom (the very clean bathroom) that says if the bathroom needs service/cleaning, ask an employee and they will clean it before you use it. And the kids and adults who work there are so nice! And one youngster was actually cleaning the dining area. I mean CLEANING it. Not just slopping around a dirty wet rag and pushing crumbs on the floor. Go here. Now. Later. Often. I will stop in every time I pass through St. George. (pics forthcoming)

Perfect classic Amercana drive in. We got an advertised Cheesey cheese burger or something like that and fries with that sauce that Utah is known for. Hot, fresh, absolutely perfect.

My husband and I drive through St George several times a year. We were bored with the typical fast food chain stuff and were delighted to come across Larsen's. It lives up the the "old fashioned drive in" that is in it's name. They have stalls you can pull into and order from or a walk-up window. We were delighted with the food! I got a "Grilled Cheese" and he got a burger and onion rings. Everything was good. I was surprised that I liked this place so much but it just goes to show that dives can be delicious! We will for sure be back!!! Great prices too!

If you're out climbing or adventuring in St. George, Larsen's is the prime spot to refuel after a long day. My co-pilot was hankering for a milkshake, so I hopped on Yelp and was sold on this joint as soon as I read about the $1.00 grilled cheese sandwiches. That's all a lady really needs in life. After a hot, sandy day of climbing at Moe's Valley, I passed by Larsen's on the way out of town - and was very impressed. This place is the epitome of small town flavor. A gaggle of friendly high-school gals man the counter, and were quite helpful with suggesting milkshake flavors and describing the melty cheese tater tot goodness called "cheese teazers." (GET THE CHEESE TEAZERS.) Very casual, no frills, nothing fancy. Old fashioned fast food at its finest. The burgers were on par, the fry sauce is delicious, and a medium milkshake is way more than I needed.

Support local business! My husband and I stopped off in St. George for a lunch break on our way back to Los Angeles. There were so many chain/fast food restaurant options and were delighted when we saw this St. George goodie near I-15. I ate a delicious, like-your-mom-used-to-make grilled cheese sandwich ($1) and my husband enjoyed a cheeseburger combo w/ fries (well done and not scrawny like fast food fries) and a drink (free refills) for $4.95. We completed the meal with a dessert of two small ice cream cones which were served tall. Lunch + dessert for under $8... you can't beat that!

This is our favorite place in St. George to grab some ice cream. The staff is fast and they are super nice. I just really like the old fashioned atmosphere as you drive in, if only they had roller skates it would be complete! I always get the Reeses Shake and the vanilla ice cream is great as well.

What a cute little shop! We stopped here on our way to the Grand Canyon for some shakes. I got a chocolate shake with malt and it was excellent. They have a ton of other flavors to choose from, but I was craving a classic. They still use the real shake-mixer-machines (whatever they're called) and make each shake fresh - your shake won't come pre-made out of some machine where it's been spinning around for hours. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. It's a great place for a quick stop!

I've been rolling into this place since literally the day I was born. It is the site of many memories of middle school high school and even college. There was a period there when Frosttop seemed kind of lost the new ownership came back in and really Dialed it back in. The food is always good and consistent, the service is amazing. They're not just hiring punk teenagers but really good kids to run the store. You can never go wrong with the king Queen or Prince burgers. But their fries and fry sauce cannot be beat. Nor the cool sign out front!

Not just slopping around a dirty wet rag and pushing crumbs on the floor. Go here. Now. Later. Often. I will stop in every time I pass through St. George. (pics forthcoming)

My wife really didn't like her cookie dough shake at all. I had a lime glacier and it was delicious!
